Frequently Asked Questions
UVA Rocketry is open to all University of Virginia students of any major, any year, and both undergraduate and graduate levels. While many members come from Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE), we greatly value the contributions of students from Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE), Computer Science (CS), business, marketing, and other disciplines. By joining us, you’ll gain the opportunity to collaborate with peers from diverse fields, enhance your communication skills, and form lasting connections within a vibrant community.
UVA Rocketry primarily recruits members at the beginning of the semester during the Fall Activities Fair. However, we also accept students throughout the year. You can join us by reaching out through the contact form above.
Don’t worry! Many of our new members join without any prior experience and still become key contributors to our success. UVA Rocketry is all about hands-on learning, so we welcome everyone regardless of their background. While previous experience isn’t required, we do expect some level of commitment to meetings and work sessions. The effort you invest will directly impact what you gain from this experience.
